This is #Day1.
Over the summer, I am writing a short post about our day. The posts highlight some of our fun times, boring times, and imperfect times.
#Day1
Boy awoke. His first word was his best friend’s name.
Things were unsettled.
. . The
. . . . . . . . . . . day
. . . . . . . was
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . strangely
. . . . crooked.
The summer holidays had begun…
• Routine gone.
• Best friend changing schools.
• Visiting Nana on Thursday instead of Sunday.
• Meeting unfamiliar relatives visiting from New Zealand.
Tears. Hugs.
Uncontrollable giggles.
Shouts & whispers.
Demands & requests.
Non-stop-talking.
Empty tummy. Lots of food. Hungry again.
Sleepy in the car. Wide awake at bedtime.
It was a good day. A full day. A chaotic day.
I wasn’t a perfect mummy.
My child wasn’t perfect either.
And my husband didn’t even come close! 😉
But, we had a good day.
We can go to bed comfortably rested in our imperfections.
What will tomorrow bring? I am hoping for an 8 o’clock lie in!
How do you and your kids fill the days during summer break?
